This is from the current ISY-26 manual:

"Replace....with" command:

This menu option allows you to replace a defective device assigned to a device name with a new device. The ISY takes care of removing the defective device address from the device name and adding the new device address into the existing device name. It will swap all the linking information from the defective devices to the new device.

Known problem: As of version 2.6 firmaware, there is no requestor message directing the user to put into "linking mode" any RemoteLincs included in scenes of which the Replaced device is a controller. Therefore, it will be necessary to do this at the beginning of the "Replace....with" process, even though no reminder is presented.

Known Problem: As of version 2.6 firmware, this command will leave programs that have used the replaced device's name in an unspecified state for that device. To fix this, after performing the "Replace....with" command, review all programs that have used the "Replaced" device's name, re-select the proper device, and re-save the program.
