ISY-99i/ISY-26 INSTEON:Saving Firmware on a Mac

While release version firmware may be installed automatically (upon user confirmation), installing beta firmware requires the zip file to be downloaded and saved to your computer prior to installation. On Mac computers using the Safari browser, a zip file will be automatically opened upon download, which is not what is desired. To prevent this behavior in Safari:

  1. Go to Preferences->General
  2. Remove the check mark from "Open 'safe' files after downloading".
  • Alternatively, from Safari, you can control-click the link and select "Download Linked File As..." from the dropdown menu. Choose the desktop or some other location to save the file. This won't automatically unzip the file.

Note: This is not necessary when using the Firefox browser.

  • Password = autoupdate
